Privacy Policy

FamAI™ is operated by FamAI LLC, San Diego, California. For any privacy question or request, email brady@famai.ai.

• Account: your email address and sign-in details. If you use Google sign-in, we receive your email and basic profile info from Google — we never see your Google password.
• Family profile: your family name, time zone, family members' names, roles (parent or kid), and any notes you add such as food likes, dislikes, or allergies.
• Plans and content: weekly meal plans, grocery lists, saved recipes, calendar events, Family Quests and completions, Hero Points, rewards, learning moments, and wellbeing entries.
• Images: member avatars and recipe photos you upload, kept in private storage that only your family can read.

Every record in FamAI is tied to your family, and our database enforces that only signed-in members of your family can read or change it. Other families can't see your plans, and we don't pool your family's content into a shared feed.

If you connect a calendar feed, FamAI fetches that feed on a schedule and saves the events into your family's calendar so plans stay current. We only read the feeds you choose to connect, and removing a feed stops the syncing. If you turn on a shareable family calendar link, anyone with that link can see those events — treat it like a password.

Meal planning, quest and reward ideas, recipe import, learning wrap-ups, wellbeing suggestions, and FamAI Buddy are powered by an AI model we call on our servers. When you use one of these features, we send the details needed to answer — for example your members' names and notes, the week's meals, or the recipe text or photo you're importing. These AI calls happen securely on our servers, and only for signed-in members of your family.

Buddy listens using your device's own speech recognition — your browser turns speech into text on the device and only that text is sent to us. We do not record, upload, or store audio, and we don't keep Buddy's questions or answers after the reply is shown. Buddy can only read your family's own meals, calendar, and quests.

Kids don't create accounts. A parent or guardian sets up each kid's profile, decides what notes to add, and can edit or remove it at any time. We ask for as little about kids as the app needs — a name, a role, an optional avatar, and the plans they're part of.

• We don't sell or rent your personal data.
• We don't show ads or run ad-tracking in the app.
• We don't use your family's content to train AI models, and our AI providers process it only to generate your family's own answers.
• We don't store voice recordings or Buddy transcripts.

We use a small number of service providers to make the app work: a hosting and database provider that stores your data and handles sign-in, and an AI provider that generates the suggestions described above. They process data on our instructions only.

We keep your family's data while your account is open, so past weeks, recipes, and quest history stay available to you. Some records are archived rather than erased when you remove them in the app, so points and history stay consistent — a full deletion request clears those too.

You can view and edit your family's information in the app at any time. Email brady@famai.ai to ask for a copy of your data or to have your family's account and data deleted, and we'll take care of it.

If we make a meaningful change to this policy, we'll update the date at the top and let families know in the app.
